Open discussion: Discord freeze/recycle
I'd like to get some feel around the process of "rotating" the Discord, from being our primary discussion place, to whatever it will be afterward.
Currently, to set out the baseline: We've been slowly moving to off-Discord tooling for our internal and group discussions and information, whether that's here, Bookstack, or Zulip.
After this, we still have a mess of old information, chat logs and minutes, and three existing decision Proposals that have been/are being made.
I'd like to use this thread to discuss options for moving, clearing, and reusing the existing Discord, and eventually be able to have something to vote on. My own thoughts will be down in the thread here.

@walking mirage Absolutely. I don't think we'll be rid of it - hence the "recycle". We should harvest the good crops and till the earth to grow anew. Keep the open chatter there, but make a full dump/archive of the server as it stands, and (I can take point on this one) specifically copy out the forum channels and decision proposals already made, and bury/remove them on Discord to keep it clean over there.

I think the Discord will still be necessary to communicate with users, answer questions, and deliver announcements, since it does represent a lower barrier to entry. I still haven't been able to get Zulip going and this is the only response I've got so far. (Tim Abbott is the Zulip founder/creator. Not sure if I should bump the discussion or not.)
If and when we do move off/rebuild discord, we should take a full dump of every thread and channel for archival reasons, and summarize those threads as starting points for Zulip channels/discussions.
