I'm checking for consensus on the following idea:

renaming "decision-makers" to "stewards"

as brought up in the discord by @walking mirage and @wenchcoat system (and maybe others), "decision-making group" is clunky, awkward, and just kind of not a good fit. the discord has talked over a few ideas for what should replace it and the people in those conversations collectively think stewards is a pretty good replacement.

as i personally put it in the discord:

it sort of fits the idea that this isn't above everything (because anyone can be a steward for something), and that we're not the final say of everything (because steward sounds a lot softer than like "administrator" or "decision-maker"--you steward a landscape but that doesn't mean you control it)

if you feel there's a better word for us though (or complications/implications with stewards we might want to consider before committing to it), we'd love to hear it.

@sirocyl has also suggested we give the name "custodian" to people holding specific tasks/roles within the proposed stewardship.

i'm opting to consolidate that suggestion into this proposal because it seems a bit much to separately vote on that.

accordingly, if you feel there's a better word for this you may raise a complication for it below too. please do your best to specify if you have issues with one or both proposed words though, given this.
